Suggestion of the Protocol

While the directive principals of SBM speaks volumes of W2E with almost open support, the investors are mired by fear of source segregation and more so by segregated waste collection, and further more segregated waste collection by empowered kabadi network.

Why? The kabadi/rag-picker network will not leave any material as feeding fuel for the W2E plant!
I invite these people to visit to any kabadi sorting center as well as our MSW processing plants of last decade; they will find that a good amount of waste as rejects is thrown back to hills or municipal bins, as well as huge amount of dirt/plastics waste embedded textiles form part of, so called RDF material respectively. This textile embedded plastics waste results in failure of the shredders in many places, where the dubious cost cutting is done in their purchases.

Let’s work backward: the Waste management is primary issue and waste to energy is last resort of the waste processing modalities. This should happen after all the possible recovery of recoverable recyclables, including the non-commercial recyclables, is fully achieved. In the process of profit orientation this should never be forgotten. And precisely for these reasons the grants in enhanced PPA is given.

Dear friends the big ticket items like w@e and waste remediation attracts investments, investments for profit, but cost of environmental issues management is of a magnitude of great many times. Synergy is possible and is possible with responsibility, environmental responsibility minus hypocritical eyewash.
